
Requirements
High School Diploma or GEDÂ
Computer Skills: General computer knowledge, email, Microsoft Word and Excel
Knowledge of healthcare, pediatrics, insurance and medical terminology preferred but not required
Duties and Responsibilities
Answers phone calls
Greets patients and families
Cancels appointments as requested by parent/guardians and enters cancellation reasons on appropriate appointments. Enters patient note to reflect cancellation date and make-up date
Review cancellations/no shows weekly.
Manages the day to day schedule including making reminder calls for make-up appts., moved appts., flex appts.
Ensures patient attendance policy is followed by all.Â
Collects co-pays, coinsurances, deductibles, out of network expenses etc. at the time services are rendered
Maintains a payment log and envelope system
Manages the flex schedule, calls each week for the following week (Sharing this Report and review with the clinic manager)
Picks up waiting room and hallway at minimum one time per day on a scheduled agreed upon with Patient Advocate
Covers duties of PA when that person is out of the building or as requested by manager
Communicates with the PA daily to ensure that any duties that have arisen unexpectedly or on short notice are completed in a timely manner
Faxes and communicates plan of cares, reassessments and evaluations to referring doctorsÂ
Once authorizations have been received, schedule treatment sessions
Monitors Authorization Communication Log to ensure patients are scheduling/scheduled per their authorization.Â
Monitor status updates daily to ensure no patient is in a ‘scheduled’ status for the previous day of service.
Maintains PSC activity logs and send to supervisor weekly
Assists PA in decorating lobby and bulletin board
Completes other duties as requested by supervisor
